Why Label yourself?

After watching some of the "Peaceful" protests that are taking place amongst the G20 crowd I have to ponder to myself and ask the question about why groups of peaceful  protesters would want to negatively label themselves in public. How do they do so? I'm not talking about the reckless immaturity of burning a police car (that speaks for itself) but rather literally putting symbols upon oneself.  I saw many individuals wrapping themselves in flags such as the one shown here in the picture.

What is a Flag? Flags are created to represent nations with symbolism and history. The flag is able to be a pedestal for a group of people to respect and follow and feel as one. Therefore so when an individual places a Marijuana leaf rather than the Maple Leaf onto a Canadian flag, wraps himself in the flag and parades down the streets he is saying without words "Hey world! Look at me! The most important thing in my life is a hazardous health hobby!"  Individuals who place a drug as the most important thing that they could or would want to symbolize at a group protest against a meeting of the World superpowers where serious decisions are taking place is a bit of a scary thought. In our future will government be comprised of individuals who have petty individual beliefs rather than an actual desire to create the best country for his citizens?

Honestly, you're protests would be listened to much more if you showed up with a serious face and wanted to discuss relevant issues rather than parading about with groups of people that the world will label as single minded and short minded.

A “Big” Day in the Air

kevin-smith-getty-82488761Recently Northwest airlines decided to issue an apology to director Kevin Smith after he was removed from a local California flight. Smith was removed because he could not “comfortably” fit into one seat.
Wow! So now… we have this very large man complaining. If anything, this should be a wakeup call to Kevin Smith to get healthy. I am not going to deny the immense talent that Smith has for creating very crude and clever comedies, but the fact is last time I sat down in a commercial flight I had plenty of enough room to sit in the seat. Sure, no airline is comfortable, but if you are as large as this man and parts of your body are being squeezed like jelly and forced through the small hole between the armrest and the chair then you should know that it’s time to lose weight. Chances are, that this man was also sitting in first class which even has LARGER seats because of his wealth from directing. (that is merely a guess, i have no clue) Bottom line (no puns intended) Northwest airlines was not at fault for what they did, and if you are this large and unhealthy then you by all means should by two seats OR simply take the slightest effort into losing weight and becoming a healthy member of society

Question:......

Does holding the Olympics in Canada do nothing more than expose to the world how annoying the Canadian accent is?

Ponder this.....

Every time I've heard a Canadian talking while I've watched the Olympics so far I've had to cringe at the sounds of "Eh's" and "Aboots"

I'm glad i'm living in Korea and most of the time I can listen to Korean announcers discuss the event. It gives peace to my ears

Quit Jumping on the Bandwagon!

I'm sitting here in my cold apartment thinking about life and girls and all of that Jazz when I came across a few times something that made me quite angry. I'm sure you are seeing this now as well. The travesty that occurred in Haiti happened almost ages ago. People who truly cared immediately showed compassion and support because it was the noble and right thing to do. When I get on Facebook, or see any individual stating that they just now feel sorry for the victims of Haiti, or that I should take action, I feel as if those words are more of an insult to the numerous lives lost. People who are just now supporting the people of Haiti are jumping on the bandwagon because it is the "cool" thing to do. If you believe that it is "cool" to support Haiti because everyone else is doing it, then you as an individual need to seriously look at yourself and examine why you need to conform so much to the people around you. Don't try to make yourself look cooler based on a travesty.

How Much Longer....

How much longer do I as an individual need to suffer through this needless mess. I knew that musical talent was seriously lost a long time ago, but seeing a truly great artist having to share a stage with Lady Gaga is disappointing. Not only is Lady Gaga's vocal performance terrible, the lyrics of one of Elton John's greatest songs is changed just to glorify this ego-maniac. Lady Gaga is just as much of a fad as Ke$ha. Soon, people my age will actually laugh at the idea that they ever liked Lady Gaga, just as I laugh thinking about how much I liked Britney Spears when I was 10 years old.
